What I Do

Full project lifecycle. One management team.

From acquisition and entitlement through construction and sale, I manage the full real estate development lifecycle.

01

Acquisition & Assembly

Whether a project covers one city lot or thirty, I know how to navigate the process to a successful outcome — negotiating with multiple owners, clearing what's in the way, and assembling a site that actually works.

02

Development

Creating something from nothing is the most rewarding part of this business. Ground-up multifamily, mixed-use and residential — I source the opportunity, structure the acquisition, lead entitlement and oversee execution through completion.

03

Construction

Through my construction company I build custom and speculative homes across the Twin Cities. Thoughtful design, disciplined construction, and a finished product that holds up long past the closing.

04

Grant Writing & Fund Raising

Not simply “creative financing,” but working with municipalities, lenders and investors to build a real financing plan that works. Extensive hands-on experience assembling public and private funds — TIF, tax credit financing, grant writing, private equity and the debt markets.

05

Public Process

This is a people business before it's a real estate business. From a meeting with a neighbor to a public hearing at the city and state level, I bring the experience and the patience to see the community's short-term needs met and its long-term goals achieved.

06

Affordable Housing

A primary initiative in nearly every housing project I take on — naturally occurring affordable, tax credit-based and for-sale affordable. Housing that meets the short-term needs and long-term goals of the communities I work in is what leads this side of my work.

07

Distressed Assets

I was negotiating with banks and asset managers to acquire properties long before “short sale” was a commonplace term. To this day I still acquire through the bank REO, foreclosure and sheriff's sale process.

08

Liability & Risk

Single-family rental or large mixed-use development, every project needs its legal liability and risk minimized. I manage the ownership and development process from concept to delivery with that in view the entire way.

09

Digital Media & Technology

Great ideas may start on the back of a napkin, but great projects deserve to be showcased properly. Photography, videography, drone work and media production bring a project to life long before it exists.

10

Business Strategy

Every real estate project is a startup that has to become part of the fabric of its community to succeed. Each one gets a business plan and a marketing strategy built around the goals of that specific development.
